I studied the roots and ways to increase caring, helping and active bystandership, and the roots of mass violence such as genocide and mass killing, and ways to prevent them. I then worked in many real world settings: for example, in Rwanda to promote reconciliation after the genocide; in Amsterdam after violence between ethnic and Muslim Dutch to promote peaceful relations; with associates, using the third version of a training that I developed for police officers, training all members of police departments in the US to prevent or stop unnecessary violence by their fellow officers; with teachers to create classrooms that promote caring and helping others by students.

All of my work is about promoting Goodness in the world and preventing or at least reducing Evil.
